Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled documentary video editor to join our team and work on a variety of documentary projects. As a documentary video editor, you will be responsible for assembling raw footage into a cohesive and compelling story that accurately reflects the subject matter. The ideal candidate should have experience in video editing, strong attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling.

Responsibilities:

Review and select the best footage captured during filming
Edit raw footage into a polished and cohesive final product
Cut and trim footage to ensure that the video flows smoothly
Add background music, sound effects, and visual effects to enhance the video's emotional impact
Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that the final product meets the client's expectations
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in video editing
Manage and organize video files, ensuring that all footage is properly labeled and stored
Requirements:

Proven experience in video editing, preferably in the documentary industry
Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
A strong portfolio showcasing your video editing skills and creativity
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members
A passion for storytelling and creating emotional connections through video
A bachelor's degree in film, media studies, or a related field is preferred, but not required
