Need songwriter / composer / producer to compose and produce 18 songs for a musical – Upwork

I am writing a musical. I have a love of music and dabble in writing poetry but other than that, I have no experience in playwriting, songwriting, theater, music composition, or any other relevant discipline to draw from. I have clear ideas for the theme, storyline, characters, and the high-level message each of the 19 songs will convey in this musical (see attached).

This contract is for the first song only, but if all goes well with it we can negotiate a contract to produce any number or all of the other 18.

I have the lyrics for the first song, as well as reference song titles representing the music style I’m looking for. I need someone who can take the lyrics and reference songs, compose original music (collaborating with me on any necessary adjustments to the lyrics) and produce a high-quality demo of the song, including vocals.

Candidate should have experience in songwriting, music composition, producing, and arranging for Rock, Pop, Jazz, R&B, and Hip Hop. Please provide samples of your work.

Hourly Range: $15.00-$40.00
